TCAF is so gay

Queer artists highlighted at Toronto Comic Arts Festival

Taking place the first weekend of May every year, at the Toronto Reference Library (789 Yonge St), the Toronto Comic Arts Festival is a gathering place for comic book nerds, graphic novel fans, artists and more.
 
While queer artists have always had a strong presence (I had a lovely conversation with Maurice Vellekoop last year, who is returning), this year TCAF has truly out-gayed itself. Alison Bechdel, the writer and illustrator of Dykes to Watch Out For and Fun Home, will host a queer mixer at Buddies as part of the festival and will also debut her new book. There will be a queer-themed panel, and playwright Brad Fraser will interview gay erotic-comic artist Dale Lazarov.
 
Bring lots of money for merch, or you’ll regret it.
